José Olympio Editora is one of the most influential publishing houses in Brazil. In the 1940s and 1950s, it became the largest publisher in the country, publishing 2,000 titles with 5,000 editions, reaching, in the 1980s, the mark of 30 million books by 900 national authors and 500 foreigners. Their catalog included prominent authors and thinkers like Manuel Bandeira, Raquel de Queirós, Fernando Sabino, Ligia Fagundes Telles, Jorge Amado, Érico Veríssimo, Euclides da Cunha, Monteiro Lobato, Graciliano Ramos, to cite a few.

Ferrero has been present in Brazil since 1994, having started production in the country in 1997, supplying the domestic market and exporting to countries such as Germany, Argentina, Canada, Mexico, France, Italy, Ecuador, Russia and the United States. The company currently employs circa 1000 workers locally and is a prominent player in the sector.

The Institute for Labor and Society Studies (in Portuguese IETS - Instituto de Estudos do Trabalho e Sociedade), from which I am also an associate researcher, is a private, plural, nonprofit organization dedicated to the production and dissemination of knowledge about social issues and the diagnosis, assessment and design of public policies to fight poverty and inequality and improve quality of life.

Over a long relationship beginning in 2004, I had the opportunity to create and lead the development of several different online products, as magazines, survey platforms, reports, and systems. These are some of them:

Website and geotaged videos repository for Gente.Rio, a project made in collaboration with Porticus Latin America, that seeks to establish a virtual repository of testimonies to uncover, expose, illustrate, and bring to discussion the diversity that characterizes the life and pulse of the metropolitan city of Rio de Janeiro.

Website for Vozerio is an online magazine that spreads information, opinions, analyses, and debates about the Metropolis and the State of Rio de Janeiro, broadening the scope of discussions and thoughts on the region's development to a wider audience.

Online platform for field data collection to help define the Tax Substitution Policy of the Rio de Janeiro State Treasury Office. The project surveys prices at the points of sale, to define the Tax Substitution policy of the State.

Website and online image bank for Estou Seguro (I'm Safe), a study commissioned by the Brazilian Insurance Federation (Fenaseg) to contribute with a methodological proposal to increase the access of the low-income population to microinsurance, based on the quantitative and qualitative analysis of a series of socioeconomic, cultural, informational and institutional variables.

Online survey and interactive reports for the Brazilian participation in The Shifting Boundaries of the Changing Academic Profession, a multinational research that explores the changes that have taken place in the academic profession in recent years, their reasons and their consequences,
and how they impact the ability of the academic community to contribute to the development of the knowledge society and to achieve the economic, social and cultural development objectives of the countries.

Website for Rio Além do Petróleo, a series of debates to mobilize the different levels of government, business, academia, and civil society to formulate public policy guidelines and propose a development project for the State in a post-oil economy.

Oceana

Oceana is an international organization exclusively focused on the oceans, dedicated to promote measurable changes through strict scientific basis, in four main lines of action: curb illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing; sustainable fisheries; plastic pollution; and habitat protection. With offices in North America, Central America, South America, Europe and Asia, Oceana has won more than 275 victories and protected nearly 4 million square miles of ocean. I created and developed the series of online annual reports of the Brazilian Fishery Audit, and the online platform Alliance for Artisanal Fishing, a joint initiative of Oceana, Conservation International and Rare, endowed by the Humanize Institute.

SDSN Brasil is an initiative of the United Nations that mobilizes scientific and technical expertise from academia, civil society, and the private sector, to provide solutions for sustainable urban development, focusing specifically on SDSN Global's Thematic Group 09, "Sustainable Cities: Inclusive, Resilient and Connected". The network initial focus is the Metropolitan Region of Rio de Janeiro, with plan to gradually expand nationwide. The project was funded by GIZ, the German Agency for International Cooperation, under the supervision of the Columbia University. I conceived the collaborative platform that supports the interactions between its local members.

LegisSupport is a legislative monitoring and assessment company that closely tracks the activity of the major Houses of Representatives in Brazil. With a diverse client base, including major Brazilian and multinational companies such as AmBev, Anheuser-Busch InBev, Coca-Cola, Osram, and Pepsico, LegisSupport help these clients stay informed.

LegisSupport partnered with Calepino for more than 15 years to develop and continuously evolve their SaaS platform. During this period I acted as leading designer and product manager for the following products:

SaaS platform Monitor Legislativo, an online database that aggregates and monitors the progress of federal, state, and municipal bills, allowing the users to track individual bills, themes and lawmakers, and receive notifications at every step of the bills they follow.

Reporting platform Legislative Map, an analytical system that assesses the impact of bills on business and market.
